How I found it
I found this kettle in a small shop during a trip to Osaka, Japan, in 2015. The lotus-leaf motif first caught my eye, but it was the lid that made me linger. Its concentric rings reminded me of ripples spreading across water, a lovely complement to the leaves on the body.

I bought it as a reminder of that trip. Now, whenever I look at it, I remember the pleasure of stepping into a little shop and finding something unexpected.
