HOW IT WORKS

Your family stories deserve a place of their own.

One Photo, One Story is a small-group, in-person workshop where participants begin creating a family story website. Bring photographs, videos, letters, or documents that matter to you. I’ll guide you as you organize them, tell the stories behind them, and learn to add those stories to your own site.

Start with
one story

YOUR FIRST STEP

You don’t need to arrive with a complete family history. Bring five items that spark memories. We’ll choose one to begin with and build from there.

What we’ll do together

INSIDE THE WORKSHOP

Find a structure that fits

Your website might follow generations, places, life chapters, or a particular family story. We’ll map out pages that make sense for you.

Learn to scan or transfer photographs and documents, organize your digital files, and add images and other material to your website.

Prepare and add your materials

Who is in the photograph? What was happening? What do you remember that the image alone cannot tell us? You’ll turn those details into a story for your family to read.

Write the story behind an item

Add more stories as you learn your way around the site. We’ll review your work and discuss who can view your website.

Build and decide how to share

You’ll have begun your own family story website, created a place for your first story, and learned a repeatable way to add more. The site can grow at your own pace after the workshop.

What you’ll take away

Bring your own laptop and five photographs, videos, letters, or documents that spark memories. We’ll help you set up your website during the workshop. An ongoing website subscription is separate from the workshop fee.
